Description:
Learn how to develop pollinator habitats tailored to our local area and how to work with staff from the Cooperative Extension Service and the Farm Service Agency to improve crop yields.

Workshop Overview:

  1. What is pollination and what are floral insect visitors?
    This section covers which crops/horticultural plants require cross-pollination by insects and the role that honeybees play in crop pollination.

  2. What floral insect visitors are in the area?
    This session presents three months of insect specimens from pan traps at La Semilla Community Farm and shares information about how to plant to increase the impacts of these species on a farm or garden.

  3. How to work with Extension and pollination ecologists to improve farm yields

  4. Planting pollinators and desert perennials
